Nicholas Kirsch, PhD
Nicholas Kirsch received his PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh where his research focused on neuroprosthetics and rehabilitation robotics. Following his PhD, Nicholas has worked in robotics for almost ten years. During this time, he designed and developed autonomous systems for numerous companies, including some Fortune 500 companies. He serves as a member of the advisory board for the Electrical and Cyber Engineering Department of Gannon University, participated in the development of the ANSI/RIA R15.08 standard, and is an active participant in the ASTM F45 and F48 technical committees. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Nicholas finds fulfillment in guiding and inspiring others. Nicholas is a certified career champion, student mentor, and Alumni-In-Residence with the University of Pittsburgh. He has also volunteered as a coach and judge for FIRST Robotics and FIRST Lego League competitions for almost 15 years.
