Rockwell Automation, which provides hardware and software for industrial automation solutions, has agreed to acquire Clearpath Robotics. Although Clearpath Robotics is best known for their unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), such as the Warthog, Rockwell Automation is most interested in Otto Motors, a division of Clearpath Robotics that was launched in 2015.
Led by SBI Investment, the venture capital arm of the SBI Group in Japan, Mujin Corp has raised $85 million in Series C funding. Mujin Corp, which specializes in intelligent robotic solutions for industrial automation, was founded in 2011and has raised $158.27 million over 6 rounds (including this most recent one).
Bryan Salesky and Peter Rander, the founders of Argo AI, launched their new autonomous truck startup, Stack AV. Although Argo AI shut down in October 2022 it is clear that Bryan and Peter still believe that there is a large future market for autonomous vehicles. Stack AV is funded by SoftBank Group Corp., which has backed the autonomous trucking company for $1 billion.
